Yuba City Stake Pioneer Trek 2010

Our Family (Chris,Izzy,Christopher, and I) had the most wonderful opportunity to go on this trek. It was three days and two nights. We got up at 5:30 thurs. morning to go and meet everyone at the stake center and caravan up to tragedy springs where we heard how it received its name. Then to the staging area to find our families and get our handcart. Chris and I were Ma and Pa to 7 wonderful Children who I think I will always love they were great! The first day we trekked 5 miles, were attacked by Indians whole stole my bucket of supplies and one of my kids belts. the best part was when they tried to take one of my girls for the Chief to marry but I sold her as bad meat and saved her. Then we had a wonderful program at our camp.

The second day was filled with challenges. We did a total of 7.5 miles and some of it was hard a lot up hill. The hardest part for me was when they took the Men away for the Mormon Battalion War which left us girls to pull the handcart. The men were away in the distance and watched as the women struggled to make it up by far the steepest hill on the trek. I think it was as hard for some of them to watch us struggle as it was for us to push and pull. It was so hard and we really had to help each other. Just as we were almost to the top and didn't think we could go any further Angels came and lightened our load, and pushed and pulled the rest of the way. What an amazing experience! after we had a 2hr break filled with games and crafts following lunch and the trek back to camp.

The Third day we cleaned camp and had breakfast and set out for our trek back to the staging area. It was a 3 mile trek back but by far the most physical day for those three mile seemed to be all up hill. As we were welcomed by friends and family there was such a sense of accomplishment and love for each other. I was so proud of my kids in my "family" and my real kids. It was an amazing adventure and such a faith and testimony builder I am just so grateful for the opportunity to go and thankfully for a AMAZING friend who watched my other three kids I was able to do it. It was the first time I have ever left Karlie over night and to have it be 2 nights I was worried but they all had fun and a wonderful time I dont think she even missed me so THANK YOU Alisa I love you!
